Brief Information about Notification: J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has been published a Notification for the recruitment of Constable (Police Department) Vacancy on the basis of the Direct Recruitment. As per, the Jammu Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) invites online application forms from who are the eligible candidates for participating in the selection process for the aforementioned posts. The important dates/details with regard to the posts being advertised
Important Dates:
Date of Commencement for submission of Online Application Forms: 30.07.2024.
Cut-off Date i.e. Last Date for submission of Online Application Forms: 29.08.2024
Age Limit Cutoff :
The requirement of age for applying against these posts, as on the date of 01.01.2024 for Open based on the Merit & various Reserved Categories Candidates, shall be as under:
General Candidates : Rs. 700/-
SC/ST-1/ST-2/EWS Candidates : Rs. 600/-

1.Written Examination
- The Examination will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions.All questions will be set in English Language Only.
- There will be Negative Marking for each wrong answer to the extent of one-fourth of marks assigned to that question
2.Physical Standard Test (PST)
The Candidates shall be shortlisted
for appearing in the physical standard test on the basis of written test
which shall be 6th times of the total number of vacancies to be filled
in each caste.The shortlisted candidates should be meet the following standards.
For Males:
- Height: 5-6″ (minimum)
- Chest girth: 32″ (unexpanded)
- Chest girth: 33 ½ ” (expanded)
For Females:
- Height: 52″ (minimum)
Relaxation in Physical Standard :
For the candidates belonging to the Gorkha Community and Bot Tribe, the minimum Height shall
be relaxable by 2″.
3.Physical Endurance Test (PET)
Those who are meet the above physical standards shall be required to undergo physical endurance test which shall be consist of the following
For Male candidates:
- Long Race: 1600 meters in 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
- Pushups: 20 (one cycle of up and down to be counted as one)
For Female candidates:
- Long Race: 1000 meters in 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
- Shot Put (4Kgs): 14 ½ feet in three attempts.

4.Medical Examination
Those who selected candidates, with reference to the vancancies, will be medically examined to assess their physical and medical fitness.
5. Document Verification (DV)
The candidates who are shortlisted for Document Verification will be required to appear for Document Verification along-with the original documents as well as self-attested photocopy of the each document as per the advertisement Notification.
